Container Food celebrates the efficiency and versatility of the refrigerated shipping container in delivering ready to eat food to where it is needed with no packaging waste.

​

The system has been prototyped by us, with four different types of food and two icy drinks constructed in the home kitchen using standard kitchen appliances and latex food moulds.

​

The design is particularly suited to automation with appliances such as a freezer, robotic handling system, microwave oven, dishwasher, Bluetooth connectivity and an electronic payment system all housed in the container. This is called the Container Food Bot.

Container Food Bots can be configured with a series of air-tight stainless steel bins to store individual food balls. Appliances such as a frozen ball makers can be adapted from ice cube making technology to construct the balls.

​

Balls can be dispensed directly into a portable freezer and carried home or heated by microwave oven in a washable bowl ready to eat. The washable bowl system can debit a deposit for dispensed cutlery to be returned to the robotic washing system in the Bot.
